Dr. Westman is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. He is the author of seven books and over 120 publications related to early child development, child advocacy, family therapy, child abuse and neglect, child custody and visitation contests, juvenile delinquency, and learning disabilities. He has been active in numerous civic, state, and national organizations. He has been President of the American Association of Psychiatric Services for Children, the Multidisciplinary Academy of Clinical Education, and the Wisconsin Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He currently is the President of Wisconsin Cares, Inc., and the Editor of Child Psychiatry and Human Development.
